Now, however, you have a past to battle with. That's why I recommend you follow a strict plan if you want to make your ex boyfriend want you back. It's so easy to make mistakes when you have a history.

Agree to Break Up and Move On

While this is not what you are after right now, you must keep the long term goal in mind. Imagine what it will be like to be back in his arms in a few weeks' time - this helps to focus on what needs to be done.

The reason you need to agree with the break up is because you can't go against his wishes. It's important to not come across as desperate, but rather a mature, confident and strong woman who will go on living life.

Sending off the signal that you are moving on is imperative. If he feels you may be slipping away forever, this is the spark to action he needs.

Give him Time to Miss You

Eating healthily and daily exercise helps keep your spirits up. Alcohol and junk food may be temporary comforts - but they will eventually bring you down.

Spend time with your friends. Often we lose touch with our friends when we get into a relationship. So reconnect, go out and have fun. Try not to tell everyone about every little detail of the break up. First of all, not everybody wants to hear about it. More importantly however, word spreads. You do not want your ex boyfriend to know that you are getting depressed and that the break up is all you talk about.

Meeting for the First Time

The first time you get together again is crucial.

Keep it short - explain that you have somewhere to be in half an hour. Ideally you want to give him a taste of the 'new' you. New look, new and confident attitude. Then leave him wanting more.

Of course, if he brings up the relationship then you have to be careful. If he wants to get back together - great! If he insists on raising issues that may lead to arguments, then just say politley that you would just like to forget that, as it's in the past.

Focus on having a good time. Get your old rapport going again - this will remind him of how much fun you have together. A good technique is to simulate being in the relationship with him - do something couples would do, for instance brushing off dust from his top, or wiping something from his cheek.

If he shows any apprehension about anything you do or say, then just laugh it off as a little thing.

Closing the Deal

I would wait until the 2nd or 3rd time you meet up to let him know how you feel. Try to get him to make the first move. If you detect that he is still interested (it should be easy to read the signs), then don't be afraid to ask him outright. That's why you're here isn't it?
